Chip's Senior Portrait Sneak Peek

Chip is a senior lacrosse player at Harrison High. As a child he played baseball but quickly got bored and wanted something with more action. His mother quickly nixed football, claiming it was too rough and suggested a new sport she had heard about called lacrosse. They soon found out lacrosse was much rougher than football but Chip loved it too much to give it up. So we had Chip bring his lacrosse gear to the studio took some amazing portraits with them - check out the black and white one!
We also took some casual portraits in the studio and outside on our adjacent lot. The barn and the last of the summer foliage made a great backdrop for Chip's senior portraits!
Thanks Chip, being such a good sport (no pun intended!)

Becca's Senior Portrait Sneak Peek

Becca is a senior at Woodland High. Since she is an actress, we did a lot of dramatic lighting and posing for her senior portraits. She spends a lot of her time at the Theatre on Main and is involved in many plays there, so after we finished photographing her in the studio we headed over to the theater. There we met up with her boyfriend, Craig, who obligingly posed for a few photos. Since Becca loves the downtown area, we found some beautiful architecture to photograph her in front of. We also went over to the park, where the fountain makes a wonderful backdrop for senior portraits. Becca was so much fun to work with, her portraits have a bit of an edge to them (thanks to her theater background!) and really capture her personality. Thanks Becca, for letting us be a part of your senior portrait experience!

Katie's Senior Portrait Sneak Peek

Katie is a senior at Woodstock High. We have been photographing her and her brother Drew since she was 10 years old! We started Katie's session at the studio. She wanted all her portraits taken outdoors so that is what we did! Our studio has a great space for outdoor portraits with several different backdrops. My favorite is the old barn on the property and it seems to be a big hit with the seniors too, they all ask to have some of their portraits taken in front of it! Katie has been swimming competitively for 7 years and wanted to incorporate that into her senior portrait session. So after we finished up at the studio we went to the pool where she trains to capture her in action!
Katie's session was so much fun and turned out beautifully! Thanks Katie, for giving us the opportunity to capture your senior portraits!

Elizabeth's Senior Portrait Sneak Peek!

Elizabeth is an upcoming senior at Harrison High, where she is the writer and manager of the yearbook staff. If she looks familiar to you, that is because she was the lucky winner of our drawing for dinner for two at Henry's Louisiana Grill. You can see pictures from her night out here http://sherrisseniors.blogspot.com/2007/08/congratulations-elizabeth.html
Elizabeth's session was originally supposed to conclude at the Harrison Watchtower. She will be attending Auburn University and will have portraits made next to that watchtower in the future! Unfortunately, it started to rain during the latter part of her session and so we had to reschedule the watchtower portraits. Be looking for those soon! But as you can tell, Elizabeth had an incredible session despite the rain and her sweet personality made it extra fun!
Thanks Elizabeth, for allowing us to capture your special senior portraits!

Cassie's Senior Portrait Sneak Peek!

Cassie is an upcoming senior at Harrison High. She moved here from Clearwater, Florida a few years ago and she loves the beach. So we set out to find a place to take beach portraits for Cassie. We ended up at Acworth Beach. It isn't the ocean but it did make a great backdrop, especially with Cassie's cute orange dress!
We also took some of Cassie's portraits at a local church since she is the President of her school's FCA. She had a beautiful cross necklace that she wore for that portion of the session. Luckily Cassie's session was early in the morning (when it wasn't blazing hot) so we managed to get in some extra outdoor time in the studio lot. The barn that we have on the property is one of my favorite backdrops for the senior portrait sessions and Cassie's portraits in front of it look fabulous!
Then we came back in to the studio, switched outfits, cranked up the music, and just had fun!
Thanks Cassie, for letting us spend a great day with you!

Lindsey's Senior Portrait Sneak Peek

Here at Sherri's Portraits we think that senior portraits are some of the most special sessions sessions that we photograph. We always tell our seniors that anyone can take their picture, but we want to capture who they truly are. When you have your senior portrait session at Sherri's, you're not just getting beautiful photographs, but you are getting senior portraits that show your personality, your interests, and your hobbies. Our desire to capture who you really are is what sets Sherri's Portrait's apart. I think that Lindsey's senior portrait sessions is a great example of our unique approach to senior photography.
Lindsey is an upcoming senior at Harrison high. She is very into music and is an incredibly talented artist. She set up her easel outside of our studio and her sketches and paintings blew us away. She is also an aspiring photographer, so we photographed her photographing!
We met with Lindsey for a consultation prior to her senior portrait sessions to get to know her a little better. She picked out some poses from magazines that she liked and we replicated them in her session, like the one of her reflection in the mirror. Lindsey had such a fun and edgy session!
Thanks Lindsey, for letting us get to know you better!

Jenna's Senior Portrait Sneak Peek!

Jenna is an upcoming senior at Harrison High. We had a blast doing Jenna's senior portraits! She booked a 2 hours session and brought a lot of really fun outfits. We did half of her session in the studio on three different backgrounds and the other half of her session all around the downtown area. Jenna was so great to work with, and took beautiful portraits- even though she was outside on the hottest day of the year!
One of my favorite things about Jenna's session was her outfit selection. She had the perfect senior portrait outfit combination for a 2 hours session- a few casual everyday outfits (jeans + a top, sundress), one very classic outfit (black sweater + pearls), one very dressy outfit (black dress + sparkly earrings) and a few fun accessories! She brought along different jewelry and shoes for each outfit. Check out her cowboy boots!
When you come in for your seniors portraits, arrive a little bit early. Like we did with Jenna, we will look over each of your outfit choices and help you decide the order in which we will photograph you in them. Some colors look great for outdoors and others are best for the dramatic studio portraits.
Thanks Jenna, for being such a fun subject! I know you'll love your portraits as much as we do!

Congratulations Elizabeth!

Elizabeth was the winner of our drawing for a dinner for two at Henry's Lousiana Grill! She took along her friend Ally for a fun girl's night out. They even got to meet Henry, who graciously posed for some photos.
Congratulations Elizabeth!
2008 Seniors, don't forget to stop by the studio and enter to win a new car or $20,000! The next time we have a winner, it could be you!

Andy's Senior Portrait Sneak Peek

Andy is an upcoming senior at Harrison High. He brought along his cute dog Sammy to his session. We ended up with some really great photographs of both Andy and Sammy! Andy is into skateboarding and had seen some of the photographs that Sherri took of Adam and Kyle skateboarding and wanted something similar. So after some great photographs in the studio and a couple outdoors, we set out to find a great place for some skateboarding photos. And we sure did! Andy impressed us with his awesome skateboarding skills. Check it out in the slide show below!
Thanks Andy, for giving us such a fun session!
And seniors, don't forget to drop off your scholarship applications and your entry to win a new car! Also, you still have chance to book your session for 25% off so call us today and find out how! 770-529-1410

Tuesday, August 7, 2007

Kristen is an upcoming senior at Harrison High. It was an extra special privilege to photograph Kristen's senior portraits because we have been photographing Kristen since she was only 7 years old! Kristen is actively involved in dance, so she wore one of her dance costumes for some of her portraits. We love photographing things like this, especially since Kristen has been in dance since she was 3 years old. She also brought along her little pet Yorkie, Bailey. We love photographing pets and Bailey was so cute we wanted to keep him here at the studio. Kristen's session included both indoor and outdoor portraits and was incredibly fun. If you want senior portraits as fabulous as Kristen's, be sure to give us a call at 770-529-1410!

Roslyn's Senior Portrait Sneak Peek

Roslyn is an upcoming senior at Harrison High. She loves shopping, especially for purses, so she brought along some of her favorite handbags with her! We also had the honor of photographing Roslyn with a portrait of her mother, who passed away a few years ago. It was such a privilege to be asked to capture such a special photograph. For Roslyn's session we did both indoor and outdoor photographs. Her pink and black shirt looked great against the natural outdoor setting and we loved her little heart necklace she wore throughout the session!
Thanks Roslyn, for allowing us to get to know you a little better! We know you will love your senior portraits as much as we do!

Jake's Senior Portrait Sneak Peek

Jake is an upcoming senior at Harrison High. He plays soccer for the Harrison Hoyas so he brought along all his soccer gear to the session. It was a lot of fun to photograph him with his favorite sport and they turned out to be some of our favorite portraits of the day! Jake also brought his guitar to the session! We went outdoors to photograph him with the guitar for a more relaxed feel. We left the studio for awhile to get some photographs in historic downtown Acworth. Jake was a great sport and ended up with a great senior portrait sesssion.
Thanks Jake, for letting us capture you for your senior portraits!

Amanda's Senior Portrait Sneak Peek

Amanda is an upcoming senior at Woodland High. Amanda wanted her senior portraits taken at her favorite place to hang out and relax- Red Top Mountain. It's a special place to Amanda, she even held her birthday party there! We more more than happy to travel there to photograph her. It was quite a hike to get to her favorite spot but as you can tell from the slideshow below, it was well worth it!! It was so beautiful and relaxing and a great setting for senior portraits. After spending a good bit of time at Red Top, we came back to the studio and continued her session indoors.
Amanda was a sweetheart and so great to work with. Thanks Amanda, for letting us capture you for your senior portraits! We hope you love them as much as we do!

Kyle's Senior Portrait Sneak Peek!

Kyle is an upcoming senior at Harrison High. He's a pretty laid back guy, so his session was a breeze! For his senior portrait session we traveled to his favorite hang out, Oregon Park, to catch up with him longboarding. It didn't take much persuading to get him to show off his skills on the board! We also photographed Kyle with his new car, a Mazda Protoge 5. It just happened to start to rain in the middle of the session so we hopped in Kyle's car to wait it out. We kept on photographing! Check out the slideshow below to catch Kyle waiting out the rain in his car. Thanks to great lighting and Sherri's sharp eye, we ended up with one of our favorite portraits of the entire session.
Thanks Kyle, for giving us the chance to get to know you a little better!

Kaitlin's Senior Portrait Sneak Peek!

This week was full of Senior Portraits! We're working hard to get the sneak peeks up for all of you awesome seniors! Be sure to keep checking the blog as well as our myspace http://myspace.com/sherrisportraits to see all the new sessions!
First up is Kaitlin. Kaitlin is an upcoming senior at Kennesaw Mountain High. She was so much fun to photograph! Kaitlin loves daisies and brought some along to her session. We love it when our seniors bring something meaningful along with them that allows us to capture their personality! She also brought her sister with her. It is always so much fun when a senior brings along a friend or family member for their session. It tends to help relieve any nervousness and sometimes they get pulled into the session for a quick picture like the one of Kaitlin and her sister below!
We also encourage our seniors to bring some of their music to play in the studio during their portrait session. Kaitlin not only brought some great music, but she sang and danced along to it! You can tell that her senior portrait session was a great one!
Thanks Kaitlin, for giving us the honor of capturing your senior portraits! And for just being so fun!

Mary Ann's Senior Portraits *Sneak Peek*

Mary Ann is an upcoming senior at East Paulding High. Her senior portrait session was a blast! She worked the camera like a pro. Mary Ann did several outfit changes and we LOVED her beautiful silver dress and matching shoes! She also knew how to accessorize! She wore different earrings with every outfit and that little touch makes her senior portraits so much fun!

Thanks Mary Ann, for letting us capture you as you are!

Madeline's Senior Portraits

This week we had a Senior Portrait session with Madeline! We did her sister Emily's senior portraits last year and had a blast with her, so we knew it would be fun. We had planned to do some fun outdoor poses, but when Madeline arrived it was pouring rain! Instead of letting the rain get us down, we decided to work with what we had! Madeline came in with a cute pink umbrella so we went outside in the rain and ended up with some great poses! We returned to the studio for some traditional portraits and some fun ones of Madeline showing off her cheerleading skills. Eventually, the sun shone long enough for us to go downtown. The session turned out beautifully, I think you will all agree!
Thanks Madeline, for being such a great sport! And thanks Emily, for coming along and helping out! We had a great time with both of you!
